Review books are claimed by libraries for collections or giveaways through this process:
- Each library location gets the same number of first choices and second choices. How many books each library may choose depends on how many books we have in that particular review.
- Staff present at in-person meetings will be able to select their first choice books.
- The workday after the meeting at 9:00 a.m., we send a new selection list to everyone. Those not at the meeting can make both first and second choice selections, and those who attended can make second choices.
- For entirely virtual meetings, we’ll open the list to everyone on the workday after the meeting at 9:00 a.m.
- If you select a book as your first choice before another library does, you’ll receive that book. If you select a book as your second choice, you’ll get it unless another library wants it as their first choice.
The books are sent through delivery to you once all books are claimed or following the next Directors Association meeting. If you can’t make the YSAC book review meeting (in person) or forget to look at the link (virtual), you have a few weeks to make your choices.
