that they had on the nation
as one of the crossroads from pre-Revolutionary times to the present day.

Meetings of the Watervliet Historical Society are held the
2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 at the Watervliet Seniors Center located in
the same building as the Watervliet City Library, just across the street
from City Hall on Broadway. Please feel free to join us any time, just to
listen or to become active in the Society. Annual dues are $10 for
individual, $15 for a couple, $30 for a Business membership.
Mission Statement:
Our Mission is to promote, preserve, educate and further stimulate
interest in the City’s great heritage.
Planned Permanent Exhibits:
Industry: Including Covert's, Meneely, Behr-Manning, the D&H,
Save-the-Baby, Tek-Hughes and the steel factories.
Military: Including: The French and Indian War, the Revolution, the War of
1812, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf Wars with a special
emphasis on the Watervliet Arsenal.
Transportation: From the Erie Canal to the Railroad
Municipal: Including police and fire departments, and prominent citizens

July: 4th of July Celebration
