Menands Library
Internet Acceptable Use Policy
The Menands Public Library provides library services
which are supported by the latest technologies, including access
to the Internet and electronic databases.
In offering access to the Internet, the Library does not monitor
or otherwise control the information that can be accessed over it,
nor does the Library take responsibility for Internet content, confidentiality,
or illegal use by patrons.
Although the Internet offers access to many valuable local, national,
and international sources of information, not all sources are accurate,
complete, current, or appropriate for all users. In keeping with
the American Library Association's "Library Bill of Rights,"
it is the policy of the Menands Public Library to not limit access
to any library resource by any segment of the community.
The Library uses no filtering software; the monitoring of a minor's
access to the Internet is the responsibility of that minor's parent
or legal guardian.
