To get a card, you will need two forms of identification. One of those forms of identification must contain your current address. A current driver's license, a rent receipt, checks with printed address, and postmarked mail are examples of proof of address. If necessary a postcard can be mailed to you for verification. Children under twelve need a parent's signature to get a library card. Children are limited to checking out ten items at once. Patrons under 18 years of age may check out videos only if accompanied by a parent. Troy Public Library is part of the Upper Hudson Library System. Your Troy Public Library card is accepted at most public libraries in Rensselaer and Albany counties. Loan Periods and Fines
You can use the book drops at the Main library and both branches to return books, audio and video cassettes, and CD's when the library is closed. Requests and renewals You will need your library card to request items
which are not on the shelf or which are available from another UHLS library. When your
request becomes available, we will call you. Requests can be made by telephone, or
using the online request system.
