Program facilities:
The William K. Sanford
Town Library has a program room for approximately 100 people. It must
be booked far in advance; any program must be open to the public.
Meetings of interest
to seniors:
- Colonie AARP
meets monthly except for the summer
- 55 Alive Mature
Driving classes through AARP are also given at the library from time
to time.
- Every month the
library has an Introduction to the Internet and an Intermediate Internet
class.
- From time to
time there is an E Mail class.
The library's monthly
newsletter has a complete schedule of all programs. Newsletters
are available at the library free of charge or through the mail for
a $5.00 subscription fee per year.
Adaptive devices:
The library has a
Zoom Text on one computer terminal for enlarging the Internet and/or
the magazine index.
Periodicals of
special interest to seniors:
AARP Bulletin; Elderhostel
US and Canada; Elderhostel International; New York Times Large Print
Edition (weekly); Social security Bulletin.
Other information:
The library has a
large Large Print collection.
