Program facilities:
Bethlehem
community groups may reserve rooms for meetings of a civic, cultural
or educational nature. Gallery space and glass cases are available to
the community for display of art work and collectibles. Space is reserved
in advance on a monthly basis.
Adaptive devices & Services:
- WMHT-RISE, a
radio reading service for the disabled and visually impaired, is available
via a closed circuit receiver which may be borrowed for two weeks.
- Hearing and visual
aids such as amplifying devices, a WMHT-RISE receiver and an Optelec
Clearview Magnifying Reader are available.
A wealth of information on:
Retirement, money, second careers, health & nutrition, lifelong
learning, travel & hobbies, family relationships, community resources.
Other services:
- The library owns
a varied collection of large-print and audiocassette books.
- Enjoy free public
programs a wide range of topics and participate in book discussion
programs.
- Books to People
delivers books, Large Print books and audiotapes from the library
to residents who are restricted by a physical disability or medical
condition, even if only temporarily.
Internet and PC workstations:
Public
Internet stations, an IBM-compatible workstation, and a multimedia workstation
are available by appointment to Bethlehem Central School District residents
and to others on a walk-in basis.
Home Catalog Access:
Patrons
can access the on-line catalog for BPL and other Upper Hudson libraries
from their home computers via the library's home
page.
