through oral storytelling. What tools can we use to enliven oral tradition
in modern society? Through lively exercises, demonstration, and discussion,
we will explore human communication and learning through stories, and ways
to excite children and their elders about language, learning and literature.

Storytelling: How Do I Get Started?

This storytelling workshop will focus on methods and techniques for
librarians and teachers that Len has found effective in more than twenty
years as a professional storyteller. Using stories for children from ages
three to twelve, he will provide concrete examples of these techniques
including participation, repetition, and how to lengthen the attention span
of the children we work with through story engagement. Participants will
leave with stories to tell and the confidence to tell them. |
