Scope
The Local History Collection collects monographs on the
history of Guilderland, Albany County, Schenectady County. Runs of area newspapers such as
the Altamont Enterprise, the Turnpike Record and the Heiderberg Sun are available in hard
copy and on microfilm. The library also collects materials on notables connected with
Guilderland such as Henry Rowe Schoolcraft. The Gregg collection of books owned by the
former town historian is located in the Local History Room.
