The Valley Falls Free Library is located in an historic
building that was built to hold the library in 1912. The local history collection includes
monographs on the Towns of Pittstown and Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County and the village
of Valley Falls. Manuscript collections include records of local organizations and
businesses. The Political Equality Collection (later the Womens Club) contains
materials on the organization which was formed to promote suffrage for women. The
Pittstown Debating Society Collection contains a journal of the topics debated and the
results of the debates. The Home Bureau Collection contains minute books and scrapbooks
from the Deerlick Chapter from Johnsville.
