UHLS Representative: Jo-Ann Benedetti

Member participation: An advisory council of not less that 5 nor more than 11 member and composed of persons who are educationally disadvantaged, members of ethnic or minority groups in need of special library services, unemployed and in need of job placement assistance, living in areas underserved by a library, blind, physically handicapped, aged, or institutionalized, representatives of agencies serving such individuals within the system's service area and one director of a member library. Council members shall serve three-year terms.

Charge: The council meets at least twice each year; and advises the public library system, and assists in the evaluation of activities in the coordinated outreach program. (Commissioner's Regulations 90.3 (j) (2) (iv); to aid UHLS in meeting Goal C Objective #5 as stipulated in the Plan of Service.
