First United Methodist

The First United Methodist Church in Voorheesville, c. 1900, originally stood on Altamont Road. Because of the location of the railroad, the center of the community changed. As a result, members of the church dismantled it in 1890, and moved it to its present site. The first service held at the new location was for Isaac VanAuken, who died of injuries he suffered while moving the church.
