St. Matthew's Catholic Church

St. Matthew's Church, C. 1940, on Center Street in Voorheesville, was built in 1916 and dedicated in 1917. There were 30 active families at the time. Because it was a Mission church, a priest had to travel from St. Lucy's in Altamont and occasionally from La Salette, for services for almost 46 years. It was a Mission Church until April 27, 1962, when the new church opened.
