Fuller Station
(Currently: 84 Lumber)
near 4785 Western Turnpike

Fuller Station

Once located on Western Avenue near 84 Lumber Company, Fuller Station was built in 1882 when Aaron Fuller, former politician, business man, supervisor of Guilderland, and farmer, convinced the West Shore Railroad to build the station there. The hamlet of Fuller Station grew because of the presence of the railroad. The train traffic was even heavy enough to bring incoming and outgoing mail twice daily. In the 1800s the hamlet grew enough to acquire two hay and produce businesses, a post office, a public house, and two stores. Students even took the train to Ravenna High School before the school here was built. It cost $7.50 a month! When the tracks were built above the level of the Western Turnpike on a bridge, the station was removed in 1927.

Fuller Station was built in 1882 by the West Shore Railroad. This station stood near the steel railroad bridges over Western Avenue. It was removed when the bridges were built. Now on its approximate site is the 84 Lumber Company. Picture courtesy of Guilderland Historical Society.
