I Spy My Hometown - East Greenbush, NY


	Here lies the body of Edmund Charles Genet, Behind this place, Where people come to pray.
One owner of this house, Was born in 1805. His grandfather and uncle fought, In the Revolutionary War, To survive.
	Farmers weighed their crops or vegetables, Now people here construct things electrical.
Oh the things they must have seen, On this land, fine and green.
	Once people here craved apple cider, In the barn today, is a horse and rider.
The attic had a mysterious door, Here in this house on Route 4.
	Where children used to learn, Now brave volunteers stop the burn.
Once you heard the sound "choo-choo", Here on Electric Avenue.
	This school was owned by Mr. Bates, Now people have coffee with friends or dates.
First there were books to learn, Then you brought back books to return.
	Soldiers trained upon the hill, And slept next to our school, Red Mill.
First it was a place to preach, Then people bought an apple or peach.
	At this place was the first town meeting, Next door you can buy cards for greeting.
Where they followed the golden rule, Now people keep everything "cool."
