Anime Club

ANIME CLUB! Being in the club is simple: 1) You like anime. 2) You want to seek out others like you. 3) Come to the library for Anime Club. The club tries to meet every other week. Meetings usually end around 8:30 pm.

Remember-the library closes at 9 pm so all club members must have rides here before or at 9 pm - no later! Club members under 14 years of age are required to have parent(s) / caregiver(s) present in the building.

Each meeting features new anime on the big screen (generally rated by the anime publisher for an audience of ages 13+), anime/manga art supplies and how-to items, video games (DDR, Guitar Hero, or whatever else might be available…), new manga to check out, and issues of Newtype USA, Anime Insider, Shonen Jump, Shojo Beat, and ADV Anime ADVocates for your reading pleasure.

Also, from time to time Anime Club has featured guests, including Japanese language instructors, anime otaku, manga-style artists, contests, cosplay events (aka anime costume parties!), and the occasional Japanese Monster Movie-Thon (Godzilla, Ultraman, Negadon, etc.)

We may require that both the participant(s) and person(s) providing transportation to/from an event sign in and provide emergency contact info.
