Library Expedition

Menands Public Library

Unique Features and Facts:

  • Our building is about 120 years old, and was first a carriage house (a fancy name for horse barn). Later it became a Roman Catholic Church. The church moved to a new site and this barn-church became a library.
  • We have an extraordinary collection of classic and foreign films that anyone with a card from a UHLS library may borrow.
  • We are the smallest (in square feet) library in Albany county.
  • We will believe just about any sob story about why your item is late or lost. The more inventive, the better. We like a good story. Plausibility optional.

Local Food:
The Tuscan Oven for pizza.
