Love to visit libraries?
This self-guided tour is for you! Visit as many of our 36 unique
libraries as you can in September, October and November as part
of the 2018 Upper Hudson Library Expedition!
Road trip to our libraries
as a family, or grab your friends and create a team. You might
even set up your own Expedition Challenge among friends - who
can visit the most libraries?
Whether you travel in
a pack or solo, you'll earn prizes when you've visited 5, 15,
25, and 36 locations. Each of our libraries has its own unique
architecture, vibe, events,
and collection - so the real reward is experiencing them.
To get your Expedition
started, pick up a map at any library. Then
plan your itinerary for visiting any or all of our 36 community
and neighborhood libraries! Click
here for a list of libraries, how to find them, and
some particular treasures to look for!
Do I need a library card to participate in the Expedition?
Not at all! You can visit any public library at any time whether
you have a library card or not. We welcome you!
What do I do when
I arrive at a new-to-me library?
Find someone who works there and tell that person that you're
an Expedition visitor. Find out how to stamp your map and if there's
anything special you should see at the library. Then look around
and enjoy yourself! Before leaving, be sure to snap a photo of
yourself, your team, or your family in front of the library.
This is fun! How
can I share my photos and comments
about the libraries I visit?
Use our social media hashtag #Library36er, post to the Upper
Hudson Library System facebook page, or make a comment here.
We'd love to hear from you!
