  • Education Portal.Com - A guide to undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, career education and online degree programs.
  • Job Hunting on the Internet - This site is provided by the Albany Public Library and contains information about Getting Started, Preparing Electronic Resumes, Employment Databases, and Keeping Informed.
  • The Damn Good Resume - General tips on resume writing and how to solve tough resume problems, examples of good resumes are provided.
  • Letters for Job Hunters - Provides letter writing tips and examples of letters tailored for a variety of job situations.
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook - Provides detailed descriptions of various careers which includes education and training required, average salaries, working conditions, and employment outlook.
  • Resume Writing Help - This website dedicated to providing job seekers with free information on everything from how to write a resume (including free examples) to following up after the interview.

  • America's Job Bank - This site is a partnership between the U.S. Department of Labor and the State operated Public Employment Service. There are databases for job seekers and employers, each with more than 1.5 million entries.
  • Career Builder - Search help wanted ads from newspapers across the country.
  • Career Resources @ JobBank USA -Accepts resume postings without charge. Offers a single web page called a Jobs Metasearch page from which you can access most of the Internet’s largest employment databases.
  • Jobs in Government - A search engine to help individuals find challenging opportunities in government and the public sector.
  • Job Web - Published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, includes Catapult, "the springboard to career- and job-related sites."
  • Net - Temps - National job search database and resume bank for job seekers looking for temporary work.
  • NYS Dept. of Civil Service -Information about Civil Services exams, when the tests are scheduled, how to study for them, and a new section on what jobs are most in demand.
  • The New York Job Source - Listing of employment in New York including jobs at top employers in Manhattan, Long Island and Upstate, NYS government, County government, Federal government as well as links to newspapers, TV stations and colleges online
  • Telecommuting Job - Job database and information service for people looking to work at home and telecommute.
