Upper Hudson Library System and its member libraries, in partnership with the New York State Writers' Institute, presents The Big Read, a cooperative project celebrating Zora Neale Hurston and her classic novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. Modeled on successful “city read” programs, the Big Read is meant to address the national decline in literary reading.
Join us for book discussions, music and art from the Harlem Renaissance, films, lectures and even children's programming as we celebrate this American classic!
